Think and Grow Rich – Part 6

Think and Grow Rich
Part 6.

This is the last post of "Think and grow rich", and it will certainly be the best one of all because I will expose it as a general compendium of Napoleon Hill's work that we are dealing with.

The subconscious

SubconscienteWhat is the subconscious? The author explains it as “a field of consciousness in which every impulse of thought that reaches the conscious mind through any of the five senses is classified and recorded, and from which thoughts can be recalled or withdrawn, in the same way as letters are taken from a file”.

These are the characteristics of the subconscious:

1.- Receives and stores sensory impressions or thoughts, regardless of their nature.

2.- Works every time, day or night.

3.- It is the intermediary through which the forces of Infinite Intelligence can be used at will.

Thousands of studies carried out by various disciplines, including psychology, social sciences and modern neuroscience, show that human beings are 70% driven by emotion and 30% by reason. Napoleon Hill in 1937 wrote “Emotional thoughts are the only ones that exert any influence on the subconscious mind”, that is, he explained that in the mixture of the two intelligences (emotional and rational) lies the efficiency that leads to the action of the subconscious.

How do we apply this to Feedback? Napoleón Hill give us the answer:

“Once you accept the reality of the existence of the subconscious, and understand its possibilities as a means of transmuting your own desires into their physical or monetary equivalent, you will understand the full meaning of the instructions given in the chapter on desire. He will also understand why he has repeatedly been warned of the need to clarify his desires and reduce them to a written form. You will also understand the need for perseverance in carrying out the instructions. Is that clear?

Now, the subconscious stores both positive and negative thoughts. It is our task to focus on controlling our conscious mind and not allowing negative thoughts. Let us keep in mind that there are seven positive emotions and seven negative emotions.

The positive emotions are:

Desire, faith, love, sex, enthusiasm, romanticism and hope.

Negative emotions are:

Fear, jealousy, hatred, revenge, greed, superstition and anger.

Keep in mind that the mind has no room for positive and negative emotions at the same time. That is to say that at every moment one or the other has to dominate in us if we want to reach the success in Feedback. Therefore we have to make sure that positive emotions dominate over negative ones. How to achieve this?

The Law of Habit comes to our aid. We have to acquire the habit of applying and using positive emotions in such a way that in our mind they dominate over negative ones with regard to feedback, and we have to strive in such a complete way that negative emotions can no longer enter it.

Only by literally following these instructions we may gain control over our subconscious and reach our goal. Let's destroy the infinite possibilities our subconscious offers us by offering us its help!

What does this effort represent now compared to the reward that Feedback will give us?

The Brain

The thoughts of every human brain emit vibrations like a broadcasting station and is able to pick up the thought vibrations that are being emitted by other brains.

CerebroCreative imagination is the "receiving apparatus" of our brain. It functions as an agency of communication between a person's conscious or rational mind and the four sources from which one can receive thought stimuli:

1. The Infinite Intelligence.

2. The subconscious itself, where every sensory impression and thought impulse that has ever reached the brain through any of the five senses is stored.

3. From the mind of some other person who has just expressed the thought, or who outlines or describes the idea or concept through conscious thought.

4. From the other person's subconscious storage.

When it is stimulated, or raised to a higher degree of vibration, the mind becomes more receptive to thought that comes to it through the outer sources noted above. This process of elevation takes place for both positive and negative emotions. Thought vibrations can be increased through the emotions.

Napoleon Hill says that "when the brain functions at a rapid speed, it not only attracts thoughts and ideas emitted by other brains, but provides the thoughts themselves with that same feeling, which is essential for the subconscious to grasp the thoughts and act upon them".

The subconscious is the "sending station" of the brain through which thought vibrations are emitted.

If we mix the factor of the subconscious with the factor of the creative imagination and we endow this mixture with the adequate means of emission represented by autosuggestion, we can already put into operation our “radio station”.

Operating our mental "radio" station is a relatively simple procedure. We only have to take into account three principles: the subconscious, creative imagination and autosuggestion. I have already described the stimuli through which these three principles are put into action. We must remember that the procedure begins with the desire.

This method to start our mental "diffusion station" we must do it to activate the phase in which we are currently with Feedback because, if we practice it all the partners as the team that we are, I am completely sure that the longed for goal will be crossed much earlier than planned.

The sixth sense

There is no exact description for this "sense". I refer to the explanation Napoleon Hill gives us:

“Through it, Infinite Intelligence can and will communicate voluntarily with the individual, without any effort or demand on his part.

The sixth sense is that portion of the subconscious mind which we have referred to as the creative imagination. We have also referred to it as the "receiving apparatus" through which ideas, plans and thoughts arise in the mind. Sometimes these flashes are called presentiment, intuition or inspiration.

With the help of the sixth sense, you will be warned of any impending danger early enough to avoid it, and you will be notified of opportunities early enough to take advantage of them.

Any emergency that arouses emotions and causes the heart to start beating faster than normal can put the sixth sense into action, and this is generally the case.

The sixth sense comes to your aid, and if you know how to develop and take advantage of it, you will always have a "guardian angel" at your side who will open the door to the temple of wisdom for you at all times.

"The comprehension of what the sixth sense is, is only achieved by means of meditation and mental development from within.

In Feedback, not only the enthusiasm of five or six members is useful, we must all pitch in, fulfill our tasks, prepare ourselves to be true leaders, get up every morning with the immense illusion of knowing that, in two or three years, we will fulfill our dreams thanks to the effort made now. This book that I have been summarizing in these six posts provides us with the keys to this.

I wish with all my heart that all the partners, without exception, achieve our aspirations in this immense Project that has united us around a fervent desire and an unwavering faith in its fulfillment.
